The death note was dropped on earth because of the Shinigami (Death god), Ryuk, due to boredom. Whoever holds the Death note can see and talk to him. If you write in the notebook, you will never go into heaven.
There is a master detective, L, who is trying to figure out who’s killing everyone with the notebook. He is a high schooler and he is very smart
Light is a high-school boy who holds the notebook. He is insane but incredibly smart
Ryuk is a death god who likes apples
